Wide Open to Life
My earliest childhood memories reveal innate senses that were very keen. Everything around me on the family farm, and in the wilds of the surrounding fields, set my curiosity on fire. I was fully alive and acutely aware of my environment. I belonged. I marvelled at jars of tadpoles and fireflies that I would sneak into my room. My thirst to understand the magic in this world led me to studies in the sciences and landed me with a university degree in Archaeology and Ecology. This keen sensitivity has remained a constant in my life. I began to realize that it was not a scientific mind that was relating to things but an empathetic soul.
As an artist, I am a witness and remain wide open to life. Energy moves through me, through us all, and I constantly hone my skills to stay alert and open to the vibrations that surround me. I believe that my work as a visual artist, living in a remote environment, in a state of constant and open connection to the world, is a valuable contribution to our times of unprecedented distraction, busyness and disconnection.
